Jean Hollenstein, D.V.M, Owner.
Dr. Jean Hollenstein (owner) graduated from U of MN CVM in 1988. She has practiced small animal medicine and surgery in central Minnesota since then. She has studied holistic therapies extensively and finds the integration of Western Medicine with other modalities such as Traditional Chinese Medicine, Homeopathy, and Osteopathy (manual therapy) to be the greatest benefit to her patients. Her hobbies include reading, music, theater, and hopefully someday, gardening!
Dr. Linda Kennedy
Dr. Linda Kennedy grew up in Spring Grove, MN and received her undergraduate degree in Animal Sciences and then her DVM degree from Iowa State University in 1984. After receiving her degree, she worked in the Medicine Bow Medicine Mountains of Wyoming practicing small and large animal medicine and surgery. In 1986, she purchased her own clinic in Torrington, WY. She operated this mixed animal practice for 12 years before moving back to MN in 1998. She helped establish and run the small animal Minnesota Veterinary Associates clinic in Rice, MN for 20 years. She joined us here at Glacial Ridge Veterinary clinic in the end of November, 2018.
Linda understands the bond between people and their pets and has dedicated her life to maintaining the health and well-being of these animals. She is especially interested and versed in surgery practices. She has had particular success with her non-invasive cruciate ligament repairs in her dog patients as well many soft tissue issues. She is excited to be a part of the Glacial Ridge team and to further incorporate the holistic medicine that is central to their practice.
Linda lives on a family farm with her husband and their collection of animals. She enjoys spending time with her two adult children, traveling to South Dakota and Wyoming, and riding her horse around her farm. Linda looks forward to meeting you and your trusty side kick the next time you are at our clinic!
Dr. Jen Hoven
Dr. Jen grew up in the Alexandria area and enjoys water sports, knitting, reading and spending time with her nieces and nephews. She lives with two Labradors, Ivar and Einar.
Dr. Jen completed her undergraduate education at the University of Minnesota- Duluth with a degree in Freshwater Ecology and graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine with her DVM degree in 2007. She worked in a small animal practice for over seven years and became particularly interested in pain management and local anesthesia applications for her surgery and trauma patients as well as developing a special interest in canine and feline dentistry and preventative medicine. Dr. Jen worked as a Public Health veterinarian for the USDA for two years. She is a great addition to our team with her excellent clinical and surgical skills as well her kind heart and wonderful sense of humor.
